Position Summary
Providence Healthcare seeks a Ward Aide - Housekeeping to support the clinical process on patient care units. This role ensures that the environment is organized, clean, and ready for patient care, aligning with the Mission and Values of Providence Healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain an organized and clean patient care environment.
- Follow safety protocols and adhere to WHMIS regulations.
- Assist in the transportation of equipment and supplies.
- Ensure all tasks are completed in high-temperature and high-humidity environments.
- Support the clinical team in creating a safe and sanitary environment for patient care.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Completion of Grade 12 (preferred).
- Familiarity with personal computers or computer terminals.
- Basic knowledge of patient and resident care practices.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Understanding of safe lifting and handling techniques.
- Knowledge of sanitation protocols and the importance of a clean environment.
- Familiarity with WHMIS regulations, including comprehension of labels and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Effective oral and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attendance and performance records.
Additional Requirements
- Applicants must have strong relationship-building skills and adhere to safety procedures related to transport devices.
- Must tolerate high temperatures and humidity in the work environment.
- Successful candidates should be prepared for additional shifts or schedule changes as required.
- Per CUPE Collective Agreement, applicants who have been granted a transfer within the past six months or are still in their probationary period may not be considered.
