Position: Part-Time Sales Associate
Adidas is looking for a passionate and customer-oriented individual to join its team as a Part-Time Sales Associate at the Adidas Retail Store in Grandview. In this role, you will help customers find the right products, deliver excellent service, and contribute to the overall success of the store.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers in selecting adidas merchandise, offering detailed information on products, materials, technology, and functionality.
- Ensure the highest level of customer service by actively listening to customers' needs and providing the right product recommendations.
- Drive sales by utilizing adidas’ selling techniques and the in-store AOS system (where available).
- Process customer sales transactions, including cash, credit, and debit payments.
- Maintain the store’s appearance, including processing and replenishing merchandise and addressing customer inquiries.
- Develop a strong understanding of adidas’ products, promotions, and advertising campaigns.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by respecting co-workers and adhering to adidas’ values and competencies.
- Assist with telephone duties and follow company policies on inventory control.
- Perform other duties as assigned by store management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees in both one-on-one and small group settings.
- Strong math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to follow written, oral, or diagrammed instructions and apply common sense to problem-solving in standardized situations.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and cash register functions.
- Good judgment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, with overtime during peak sales periods (e.g., Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and Back-to-School).
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear; frequent use of hands to handle merchandise, reach with arms, and occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 12 kg regularly and up to 34 kg occasionally.
- Proficiency in both English and French (verbal and written).
Qualifications
- Must have or be pursuing a high school diploma or GED.
- Three to six months of retail experience preferred.
Compensation
The pay rate for this position is $17.40 per hour. The actual hourly rate will be determined based on experience, qualifications, skills, and competencies.
